![]() Leonardo da Vinci is widely regarded as one of the most intelligent, insightful people to ever live. His ideas and creativity spanned nearly every area of human knowledge at the time, and he gave the world spectacular works of art, amazing medical insight, and technological inventions which were literally centuries ahead of their time. Yet da Vinci was also known as a man who, for all his brilliance, seldom completed a project. His involvement in so many areas made it difficult for him to concentrate on a single task-- instead, he would have a flash of inspiration and suddenly switch to a new project or a new invention. Many of his greatest contributions to art and the sciences are incomplete, causing historians to wonder what more he might have envisioned. While I do not claim the brilliance and sheer genius of da Vinci, I recognize that I share his problem: I often conceive of new projects, or hobbies, and begin working on them in earnest only to abandon them when another sudden idea manifests itself. And so, in humble tribute to the Master, I term these my "da Vinci projects". They are the beginnings of great things which all-too-often do not come to pass. This web site is a collection of some of my da Vinci projects-- at least the ones which can be digitized. Some are complete, or nearly so; others remain mere skeletons of what I have planned. Perhaps as time goes on I'll be able to finish some. Then again, perhaps I'll think of something new...
